Switzerland signed the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearances

The Federal Council of Switzerland signed last 10th of December the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearances.Therefore the Convention is already signed by 88 UN member states.

The International Convention for the Protection of all Persons against enforced disappearances was ratified on the 23rd of November by Iraq. This means that the 20th and last ratification necessary for the entry into force of this international treaty has been reached.

In accordance with article 39, the Convention will enter into force on the 23rd of December 2010 (30 days after the Notification of the 20th ratification).
