Gabon ratifies the Convention

The International Convention for the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearances was ratified by Gabon on the 19th of January. Gabon became the 22nd state to ratify this document.

Since the 20th state (Iraq) ratified this treaty on the 23rd of November 2010, the convention entered into force on the 23rd of December 2010 as states the convention itself in article 39. In the case of Gabon, the convention will enter into force on the 19th of February 2011, also 30 days after the ratification instruments were deposited.
